Poker Simulator Roadmap

I've been busy working in the background on the next update to Poker Simulator. Together with the artist who redid the character art we are replacing the original art for the Casino, greatly improving the quality. I wanted to share a bit about the roadmap and discuss where I am intending to take this game. I'm happy for any feedback and as much as I'm laying this out, it is certainly subject to change.

Version 2

Right now the plan is the next version will be version 2. This will see the Casino replaced with better art, and a new layout for the poker game against a table rather than floating in the air. I'll also be incorporating the two suggestions, adding an "All in" feature, and adding an option to speed up card dealing.

Version 2.1

Unless there are bug releases the plan now for 2.1 will introduce art for the Poker Dealer. I've also had the suggestion to add a tutorial mode, for those that don't know how to play poker, she'll guide you through a few hands. Playing the tutorial will also give an option to get a couple extra tokens to start with.

Version 3+

This is where the roadmap gets a little less defined. Right now I'm still trying to flesh some of this out. But here is a summary of what I'm considering:

  • Renaming the game, making it a Casino Game rather than a Poker Simulator, balancing other game modes with additional characters
    • Add Blackjack, Roulette, Slots, and possibly other game modes (please make suggestions if there are any you want to see)
  • Adding a fairly straightforward  story
  • Adding Casino Patrons who will pay bounty if you can zero out specific characters
    • Adding transformations at the end stages (after getting the characters naked)
      • Transformations items would be purchasable with tokens at the in-game shop

I'm also open to other ideas and features. Feel free to suggest them. But bear in mind that there are practical, financial, and legal limitations on what can be done.

Timeline

This is where things aren't nearly as positive. The artist's  rates and terms are great. However, right now I'm nearly 100% out of pocket. I have other financial responsibilities outside this and a limited income. So the speed of this depends on things like not needing unexpected car repairs, or not getting other surprise bills. Right now I don't have a Patreon or SubscribeStar. So the only way to support the game is through Itch. So if you want to see development accelerate... purchase the game, share the game. I would love to be able to take the money from sales and reinvest it in the game.
